Wellington Bike Park

Client: Breckenridge, CO

Elevated Trail Design was hired by the town of Breckenridge, Colorado to design and build a new bike park for the town. The Wellington Bike Park occupies about 5 acres of land right in town with fantastic access via bike trails, bike lanes and sidewalks from main street. A completely unique site plan was developed, including several descending flow trails, skills features, and a massive pump track. It is a great example of incorporating all elements of a mountain bike experience into a small space that has something for all types of mountain bikers. The town secured high quality dirt and provided stone, timber, and fencing, which helped ensure the highest quality product. In addition, our crew enjoyed having the town’s highly trained 8 member trail crew on site to help with the construction portion of this project. The result is a visually stunning facility for riders of all ages and skill levels, which demonstrates ETD’s ability to execute a project from concept to construction. Numerous drainage pipes and catchments are central to the park’s plan, with the goal to provide efficient runoff of stormwater and snowmelt, while also reducing the need for regular tread maintenance.
